Why ‘The Great 88’?
Our bus, or ‘Dora’ as we have affectionately named her, is a 1989 Volvo B10M-50 with a body by East Lancashire Coachbuilders. We bought her from N&U Travel in Liverpool, who had named her ‘The Great 88’ because she had 88 passenger seats (49 upstairs and 39 downstairs). That makes her officially A Big Bus! The seats are now gone, but we have kept the name.
